To Brighten Your Day

I might have one of the world's cutest hispanic preschoolers in the world. I can't post a picture of him, but he has this spiky dark hair and the chubbiest chipmunk cheeks, plus his accent just makes all the funny things he says even more hilarious. This is a sample just from today:

(I was asking him to identify different plastic farm animals)

Me: What's this animal?
G: A horsey.
Me: How bout this one?
G: A bunny wabbit.
Me: And this one right here?
G: A twack, twack! (It was a duck)

(He was laughing on his cot at rest time, really LOUD)

Me: Shhh! Your friends are trying to sleep.
G: I tan't help it, my tummy just make me laughing when I cose my eyes!

If this even evoked a little grin, it did it's job, have a wonderful weekend!

Back to Searching

A quick update on the house hunting- we were in a negotiation on a house in Nevada all last week and finally decided on Friday that we couldn't accept the terms the seller wanted and chose to walk away. It was sad because we really loved the house. The seller is renting to another family right now and even though he's not bound to the full six month lease he has with them, he doesn't want to break it early, which would mean we wouldn't get the house until the end of June and he wasn't willing to compensate for that wait by bringing the price down further. Oh well, I suppose we will find something. We looked at about every house in Nevada that was our price range and built after 1940, so we're going to try looking at some places in Ames. Who knows, maybe the market will open up a little bit more in the next couple of weeks and we'll have many more choices, we'll see....... :)

Any Advice??

We found one we like and we're trying to do our homework so that we know how much to offer. This is so nerve racking! Plus, I feel a little bad because the house we are interested in the most, the seller just started renting to a little family from Kansas, they have three kids and just moved in last weekend. From talking to them they weren't expecting anyone to be interested in buying the house for a while still, but we really like it and there are just enough improvements to be made that we feel confident we can deal with them. Don't want to jinx anything yet, just wish us luck and pray for us that we get the house!
